This could be the beginning of the end for American Idol. I mean, when Simon leaves, who will replace him? Simon makes American Idol what it is today and it’s hard to see someone else fill his shoes. Is this a strategic move for Cowell? Heading up X Factor will give him more money than being on Idol. Who knows? I’m sure over time American Idol will lose its steam and X Factor may rise to the occasion.

Let’s hope this season will be spectacular!

Also making rumors true, is that Simon Cowell has one more season before he calls it quits. He sights that he wants to focus on his shows, specifically the X Factor show. American Idol may be winding down now that Paula left and soon Simon will follow. How will American Idol survive?

The runner up of American Idol, Adam Lambert, will release his debut album on November 24th of this year. This will come out a week after AI winner, Kris Allen’s debut album.

Lambert’s album will have elements of rock with a hit of glam and pop thrown in. He made it big on AI with songs of that nature and will continue to go with this run on his debut album. Lambert has yet to title the album, stating that he wants to wait until he knows what songs will be on the album. I am sure his debut will rival Allen’s and I secretly hope it comes out ahead.

If you haven’t already hear, former AI contestant Alexis Cohen, was killed in a hit-and-run this past Saturday July 25, 2009. News of her death has made it to Twitter and many are wishing her family some peace and comfort. From Paula Abdul to Ryan Seacrest, tweets out to her family came flooding in.

Alexis Cohen was 25 and a contestant on the seventh and eighth season of AI. She became a fan favorite for her trite words towards AI judge, Simon Cowell.

Jordin Sparks, the youngest AI winner, has just dropped her sophomore album on July 20 of this year. Her hit single, Battlefield, is also the name of her album and it’s hitting the airways across the country. She is currently on tour with the Jonas Brothers and I’m sure all the Sparkplugs (her fanbase) will be attending each concert. The album is upbeat and more electrified from her debut album and is sure to make radio play all summer.

There has been much speculation as to whether Paula Abdul will be back for season 9 of Idol. The round of try outs are next month and much of the media is wondering if they will see this goofy, kooky spirit of a judge.

It is apparent that Paula Abdul is frustrated with her upcoming AI contract renewal. There is much support to keep Paula on her Twitter page. Past AI contestants like Danny Gokey and Annoop Desai tweeted to Paula to stay on AI.

I think this is just publicity and that Paula will stay on as an American Idol Judge for season nine and possibly season 10 and 11. No one can take the place of Paula Abdul. She wears her heart on her sleeve and invests in these singers. She will sure stay on so don’t miss next season.
